The CSR (Customer Service Representative) investigates, resolves, documents, and responds promptly to basic customer complaints and positive feedback in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. Receives customer inquiries and complaints; answers questions and provides information about services; resolves customer issues relating to transportation; communicates responses to customers

  2. Records comments and complaints, resolving such complaints to the extent authorized

  3. Monitors, evaluates, and presents solutions to potential problem areas

  4. Clearly and accurately documents issues

  5. Answers customer calls and takes paratransit ride reservations using a computerized scheduling system in compliance with ADA laws; schedules customer requests and negotiates pick up times for shared ride services

  6. Creates daily manifests for drivers based on customer demands

  7. Screens and registers clients for ADA service

  8. Enters new customer information or changes into the system

  9. Analyzes transactions, corrects records, and adjusts errors

  10. Maintains close liaison with other departments to carry orders through to completion

  11. Maintains a clean and well-organized work area

  12. Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

  1. High school of college courses in computers, English, or business preferred

  2. 2 years customer service or basic office experience preferred

  3. Basic to intermediate computer knowledge/PC experience required

  4. Proven interpersonal skills dealing with the public required

  5. Pleasant telephone voice/manner required

  6. Strong verbal communication and listening skills are required. Must be bilingual, proficient in speaking and understanding English and Spanish.

  7. Ability to communicate well via the written word or verbally

  8. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and exhibit good interpersonal skills with others, at all levels both internal and external

  9. Must be able to deal patiently and friendly with external customer problems and complaints and remain courteous when faced with difficult or angry customers

  10. Must be a team player yet able to work well independently

  11. Must be able to work on various shifts or flexible work schedules

  12. Must have familiarity of local service area
