Transdev Parts Manager in Houston, Texas

We are Now Hiring a Parts Manager in Houston, TX!

The Parts Manager controls the requisitioning of parts, supplies, and services for the entire Maintenance Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed in the storeroom and shop.

  • Reviewing daily work product with Maintenance Manager and parts clerks, ensuring compliance with all SOP’s.

  • Track and analyze parts usage and stocking levels.Ensure all Mins and Max levels are maintained.

  • Take necessary action to remedy any deficiencies.

  • Outline the daily job duties for the parts clerk. Ensure defined duties are assigned.

  • Meet with Maintenance Managerdaily, on parts issues including no stock holds, fleet failures, campaigns, long lead time parts and other issues as they arise.

  • Parts manager MUST come up with options on parts with long lead times.

  • Ensure all parts tracking and PO information is up to date and accurate at all times.

  • Ensure all administrative tasks are handled as they relate to HEXAGONand other parts software, as required.

  • Communicate with OEM on problems identified with parts and pursue warranty on parts as needed.

  • Ensure needed parts and inventory levels are maintained at efficient and optimum levels.

  • Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate staff.

  • Provide support to the maintenance director as assigned.

  • Part room MUST be organized well maintained, and 10% cycle counts performed as well as a FULL quarterly inventory.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 

  • Minimum Two (2) years management experience with employee supervision

  • 5 years’ experience providing parts support for a fleet maintenance operation.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability:

  • Ability to formulate and implement short- and long-range plans for fleet parts usage.

  • Ability to conduct training of subordinate staff.

  • Familiar with company policies and procedures.

  • Excellent organization skills.

  • Recruits, selects, and hires well qualified, motivated personnel.

  • Excellent attention to detail skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Ability to successfully supervise subordinates.

  • Understands the financial aspects of a multi-facetted fleet maintenance parts program.

  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager and assists Supervisors, Warranty Manager, Training Manager and Maintenance Technicians, as required.

  • Disciplines parts personnel as a member of the division management team.
