Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our team. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in maintenance and repair services. As an apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced mentors to learn essential skills and gain hands-on experience in vehicle service maintenance and repairs. Upon successfulcompletionoftheOneYear or 52-weekprogram theApprenticeshallbeeligibleforpromotionto a C-Level Technician.

Duties:

  • Collaborates with an assigned mentor to learn and perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.

  • Assists mentors or technicians as needed.

  • Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Retrieves parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.

  • Conducts safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, and minor repairs as instructed.

  • Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or the Maintenance Manager.

  • Reports any machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.

  • Attends training classes and departmental meetings.

  • Operates all tools and equipment safely.

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Study weekly material and take weekly quizzes.

  • Apply common understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; handle standardized situations with minimal variability.

  • Apply general understanding to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions; solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  2. Knowledge of shop safety standards.

  3. Strong commitment to safety is essential.

  4. Must be well-organized.

  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.

  6. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently without constant supervision are necessary.

  7. Flexibility to work various hours or shifts is required.

  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Demands:

  • 10% of work is conducted indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Frequently stands and walks; must be able to sit for up to three hours; walk long distances, possibly on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces; possess normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift or handle materials weighing up to 50 to 75 lbs. without assistance; bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch; have corrected hearing and vision to normal range; and engage in verbal communication.

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing job duties.

  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

  • Exposure to cleaning solutions, oils, and other liquids.

Must be able to travel for company training, meetings, or support missions.
